If Life Was Fair

If life was fair, then…

Every time you exceeded the speed limit …
You would be ticketed

Every time you stole as a child …
You would be sent to jail

Every time you mis-used company time for personal business …
You were fired

Every time you lost money for your company …
You were docked the same amount in pay

Every time you cheated on a test in school …
You failed the class

Every time you had bad thoughts against someone …
They’d *hear*

Every time you ingested food that was not good for you …
Your body would refuse it

Every time you ate too much …
You’d gain weight

Every time you returned an item you broke but wasn’t broke when you bought it …
The store refused it

Every time you made a mistake …
You got called on it

Every time you took drugs …
You were arrested

Every time you made a promise to God …
HE would hold you to it

Every time you lied …
Your nose would grow

Every time you looked at the opposite sex for just a little too long …
Your spouse would catch you

Every time you flirted with your co-worker …
Your spouse would find out

Every time you bad-mouthed the boss behind his back …
You were fired

Every time you abused your body …
Your body contracted disease as a result

Every time you exaggerated contributions on your taxes …
You were caught by the IRS

Every time you complimented someone and didn’t really mean it …
They’d *know*

Every time you did a good deed …
You were recognized for it

Every time you donated to the needy …
It was appreciated

I thank God that life is NOT fair sometimes.

This weekend was quiet for me … with the children gone … plenty of time for me to reflect on the fairness of life.
